I get very frustrated with all the products that get released promising to help you make million of Dollars but don't mention the most important aspect of any site. How to generate traffic.

It really doesn't matter how good the product is with out traffic and good quality traffic there is no point in building it. "if you build it they will come" doesn't apply to web sites. The most important thing when starting out is not books on building sites or exotic site building programs it's learning how to get the traffic to your site.

If you go to Google or yahoo and look at the bottom of the search listings you will find some really great looking sites. But languishing down there they don't earn any money or get visitors so there was no point in building them. If you go to any of the forums where you can buy sites you'll see the most popular questions are how much money does it earn? and what is the traffic? You can make any site with good quality traffic earn money. So always look for site with traffic rather than income.

Take time to develop your own traffic delivery system and you'll have one less thing to worry about. Take time to find out what works and what doesn't. I created a video for my members yesterday about how to get a site indexed and start generating traffic and I found something that got a new site into Google in less than 18 hours.

Using that method was completely new to me and although it impressed me it might have been a lucky one-off. I used it on another new domain this morning and found that it only took 3 hours before my site was referenced in Google. 3 Hours! Now that is very impressive.

It's not surprising that the method I used isn't listed in any manuals or e-books. Search engines constantly change the weighting they gives sites. it wasn't long ago that Squidoo was the most important place to have a link to your site, that's not the case anymore.

The easiest way to find the services that work is by seeing what ranks well in Google. Personally I will focus on Internet Marketing terms as marketers tend to be ahead of the pack on most things related to site promotion. I'll then locate what services they are using to get links back to their sites and then test them on my new sites. If they work the get added to my spreadsheet and then used until something more effective comes along.

By choosing keywords wisely and using all the sites you have identified you can quickly start to dominate a niche. For a recent product launch I had 5 of the top 10 positions in Google for the product name that was launched. Needless to say I generated quite a few sales from Google traffic without having to resort to PPC.
