You will need to have any sized deck of cards and nothing else.

To begin:

Prepare your deck of cards beforehand by choosing one card that will be the one you want your audience to choose. Mistakenly they believe they have a chosen card but in reality you have make the choice beforehand. Remembering what card you have picked is very important. Remembering which card you have is the only real skill in the trick. The hardest part of the trick is the part when you select a card and must remember what it is. The chosen card goes on the top of the deck so place it there.

This is the first step:

Someone must select a number between five and ten so group together some people and ask a single person. The number they choose is of no consequence. It could be, eight, five, nine, ten, seven or six. Face the cards down on the table and keep them that way. After hearing their choice you reply "Now I need you to count to ten by using these cards. Here, I will show you how." So now they have been told this and you once again hold the deck from them, place the first card down and count by starting with the number they chose.
